The Dæmons es el quinto y último serial de la octava temporada clásica de Doctor Who. Concluyó la sucesión de historias de la temporada con el Amo interpretado por Roger Delgado, aunque el personaje continuaría apareciendo ocasionalmente durante las temporadas 9 y 10.
Sinopsis[]
El Amo, haciéndose pasar por un párroco rural, invoca a un demonio de pezuñas hendidas en la cripta de una iglesia. Con intenciones de obtener el poder demoníaco del antiguo titán, él reúne a un culto y luego corrompe o controla a los residentes de Devil's End para que cumplan sus deseos. Fuerzas elementales oscuras empiezan a perturbar al pueblo en la víspera del primero de mayo: asesinatos sin explicación, una gárgola de piedra que cobra vida y un domo de energía infernal prácticamente impenetrable.
Con el Amo preparado para destruir la Tierra, el Doctor y UNIT - con la ayuda de un benevolente practicante de hechicería - combaten contra los perversos ritos de ciencia secreta llevados a cabo por un alienígena de otro mundo.
Una futura encarnación del Doctor conocida como el Conservador también se introdujo durante la etapa del Undécimo Doctor y apareció en The Day of the Doctor (2013).
