The Eaters of Light (Los devoradores de luz) es el décimo episodio de la décima temporada moderna de Doctor Who. Fue escrito por Rona Munro, que volvió a escribir para el programa tras casi 28 años desde su último guión de televisión, Survival — el fin de la era "clásica" de la serie.
El episodio responde a la pregunta acerca de lo ocurrido con la Novena Legión del ejército romano. También supuso el regreso de Missy, revelando que el Doctor no llegó a llevarla de vuelta a la cámara tras su salida en TV: Empress of Mars.
¿Qué pasó realmente con la legendaria Novena Legión del ejército romano? Bill y el Doctor tienen sus propias teorías, aunque no saben quién de los dos tiene razón. ¿Qué es la extraña criatura que deambula en la oscuridad?
Una futura encarnación del Doctor conocida como el Conservador también se introdujo durante la etapa del Undécimo Doctor y apareció en The Day of the Doctor (2013).
