La Quinta Stagione di Doctor Who andò in onda dal 2 settembre 1967 al 1 giugno 1968. Consisteva di sette serial e in tutto 40 episodi, molti dei quali sono andati persi. Fino ai primi anni 90, quando si ritrovò una versione completa di The Tomb of the Cybermen, non si credeva che alcuna storia della stagione fosse rimasta intatta. Un secondo serial fu poi recuperato completamente nel 2013, The Enemy of the World, insieme con una versione quasi intatta di quello seguente, The Web of Fear. Sono sopravvissuti episodi singoli di altri serial, e registrazioni audio rimangono per tutto.
Fu inoltre la prima stagione a non avere un singolo episodio con comparse dei Dalek.
